Short Form Content Editor – Role Spec
Core Responsibilities
- Edit and produce short form content for a range of social channels including TikTok, Instagram, YouTube reels and more
- Be familiar and native to shortform content channels. Including awareness of current content strands, conversations and themes that are popular and growing on each platform weekly. Particular focus on TikTok
- Be able to identify audio sections within songs that lend themselves to narrative content opportunities and UGC storytelling. Including humour / emotional resonance / shock and surprise / beauty / heartbreak and other key themes for UGC creation
- The ability to repurpose existing clips and video footage to create new content moments and stories without relying on artists to generate content
- Caption writing for maximum potency
- An understanding of wider popular culture outside of music. including gaming / sport / TV / film / meme / wellness & workout / beauty & fashion. To use our music to soundtrack shortform content drawing from and referencing these worlds outside of music
- The ability to ideate and execute shortform content ideas without our artists that do not rely on their participation. To produce content using a song as the primary narrative devise in unexpecting, funny, playful, emotional ways
- The ability to ideate and execute shortform content ideas with our artists. To capture content around existing moments including artist live shows, shoots, promo opportunities and more. The ability to use these moments to tell interesting and engaging stories in a short space of time
- The ability to capture, edit and publish content on-the-go and natively within each app. As well as using traditional editing tools
- Management of TikTok account (or a few) for content to be published to. Daily / weekly posting
- Relationships with 3rd party publishers and content creators to collaborate and cross-promote content for maximum audience reach
- Relationships with other editors to commission and deliver content alongside your own output
